Amphora,

August  2022

During an archeological dig of the ancient Levantine Sa’idiyeh palace, a scullery was found, containing remnants of charred grapes, figs and pomegranate leaking out of pottery vessels and cracked amphoras. Archaeologists believe as an epic feast was on brink of being served, a fire striked, leaving this produce to be forever encapsulated in their charred form for us to discover centuries later.

gobyfish collective ceremoniously invites you to join us in the retelling of this ancient feast; at a time in which the looming threat of forest fires and ecological rupture stares us in the face. We wish to gather in communion while sitting with the complexity of our time. Framing fire as our central cooking tool, we invite you for an evening of earth, juice and matter at Glengall Wharf Community Gardens. Expect to walk amongst the cherry trees and bathe in smoky whispers, while being fed sticky charred delights and fragrant herbal mixtures.
